Betsey Johnson and Irregular Choice

Everyone loves Betsey Johnson. You see all the stars wearing her and yet, miraculously, she's affordable around this time of the year. Currently, her New Years Sale gives us a number of her beautiful pieces for up to HALF OFF. Amazing for BJ.

Betsey Johnson dresses are so unique, beautiful and different that a pair of black pumps will just not suffice. So here are a couple of BJ outfits paired with a lovely pair of IC shoes.

Not that I'm dissing BJ's shoes. Her shoes are beautiful! But before she carried shoes, I always felt that her dresses had a natural connection with IC shoes. While Betsey's shoes tend to be party girl shoes (since she really is such a party-mama), Irregular Choice shoes tend to be a bit more of an art project. They almost resemble a wearable sculpture. Every shoe is different and unique. But I digress, here are a couple beautiful shoe choices from BJ.

That's it for today!

Post-Holiday Lingerie Sales!

Basically, my clothing collection is complete. Almost. I believe that a perfect clothing collection has the following:

- At least three pairs of great jeans.
- (A nice collection (4-8) of casual t-shirts.
- 4-6 going out tops.
- 4-6 blouses.
- 4-8 camis.
- At least 3 sweaters of various thicknesses.
- 2 sweatshirts (one super cute, the other super casual.
- Four jackets: one light spring jacket, one fall jacket (a bit thicker fabric like wool, usually a short jacket), one winter jacket (a longer version of the fall jacket), and one snow jacket (water proof).
- About five skirts of various lengths (short, knee length, ankle length, long). These should come in floral print, jean, wool or cotton. Try to stay away from such exciting fabrics as lame.
- And however many dresses you feel necessary (I'm pretty sure I have about twenty five). A couple summer casual dresses, a few going out dresses, a couple fancy shmancy dresses.

After all these are acquired I'd say you are free to buy yourself some no-need pieces (in which case fabrics like lame are okay). But usually these things are purchased before the collection is complete (c'mon, we're woman and we want to splurge every now and then).

I'm almost there with this. But one thing I don't own is super sexy sleepwear. I usually wear shorts and t-shirts and I think a lot of women do. So here's a great way to spend that Hanukkah gelt and Christmas cashish:

Victoria's Secret is having an incredible sale. And unfortunately none of the pieces I bought from them today are available online!

Here are a couple of pieces I would have liked but were unavailable:

I urge you to go to the mall tonight and shop shop shop!

I also went by Old Navy (which I honestly despise) and got an adorable sleep dress for less than nine dollars.

Fredericks is also having a huge sale! Their corsets are half of right now, which (if you are a corset collector like myself) is quite a bargain. Here are a couple of the most beautiful bargains:

Besides these two stores there are actually quite a few really great websites that sale coutoure lingerie.

My absolute favorite site is Trashy Lingerie. Their pictures don't respond to html so go look, don't hesitate. They have the cutest lingerie styles and literally thousands of different pieces to choose from along with dozens of collections.

Another wonderful website is Fairy Goth Mother.

They have a wonderful collection of corsets and formal wear.

Good luck with all of your post-holiday shopping! Happy New Year!

Organic Clothing for the Modern Lady!

So I've been researching around the internet about organic fabrics, yarn and clothing. I've found that a lot of organic or otherwise sustainable clothing tends to be super hippyish, which is great, but not for everyone. It's time there were more sustainable and organic options for the modern woman. So I have found a couple of exciting websites with adorable dresses, tops, jackets etc. - all sustainable, all beautiful.

The first is Shop Green (http://shopgreen.pricegrabber.com/).

My favorite pieces being this mini long sleeved dress:

The next is The Oko Box (http://www.theokobox.com/mm5/merchant.mvc).

My favorite pieces here are:

This lovely (slightly gothic) tiered dress

This sleep wrap top (with matching cami and pants):

And this amazing pink dress:

Many cute things are available! I'm hoping that more clothing manufacturers and designers open their minds to sustainability. I'm going to try to do more research on this in the future. It's a good start though.
